The ratings are a bit stretched, but they’re still more accurate than many manufacturers’ numbers, so comparisons may be off—but medical growers report lush, productive growth within a 3-foot square area.
600W has limits, and a second unit should be added during flowering for an ideal setup. The investment may be worthwhile: there’s more durability here than usual, and the company has a good record of service and a 2-year warranty.
If you’re looking to adequately light a high-demand setup and don’t want to torch your wallet, this VIPARSPECTA is worth getting to know.
This model cost a LOT more money back in the day—or, about 3 years ago. It can take a plant from seed to harvest, or instantly change the configuration to growth or bloom spectrums.
The rating is 2400k-3000k and has four wavelengths—440nm, 460nm, 630nm, 660nm–and one “invisible” 730nm (IR). For all early hype, the output is rather middling today.
The light covers a core 2.5-foot square area, but it runs a little hot, so you’ll need ventilation for the unit to meet its 50,000 hour lifespan.

This BESTVA isn’t a bad light at all, and the full spectrum on offer is fine, but the manufacturer is targeting serious growers with a light that’s best for starting seedlings and maintaining houseplants. Be aware.
There’s nothing necessarily wrong with a cheap-o disposable light for indoor growing, but unless you want to use one light per plant, this isn’t a grow room special. The heat is well-controlled, though, and the customer service and 3-year warranty are important features.

The MEIZHI 1200W LED Grow Light is the higher-powered cousin of the one we’ve seen. It combines the company’s respected craftsmanship with a more complete LED light configuration … and, of course, more of it.
You can’t quite go by the manufacturer’s specs, as you can’t quite ever with LED lighting. The effective high-light coverage is about 30 inches square, not four by five feet as it claims—but, within that space you’ll get excellent penetration of a full spectrum with a PPFD of 1209 μmols at 18 inches.
Though the effective field is not large, the lighting within that space is high-grade. The MEIZHI 1200W is worth considering if you’re looking for one light to bring a plant through growth and blooming.
This Niello model is a popular and energy-efficient light that draws an energy-efficient average of 36 Watts. The light produces 6-bands in a distributed spectrum, sufficient to bring a plant through its entire cycle. It’s most excellent for growing seedlings.
The light is a great value for the intensity and doesn’t tend to run hot or use excess energy. According to the manufacturer, the optimal coverage is about two feet square—if hung two feet high. Perfect for germination and early growth.
Durability isn’t an issue: there isn’t much. This is a mass-mass produced LED with a one-year warranty and a one-year-and-a-week’s expected lifespan … and no one cares. At this price, it’s worth a year for championship seedlings and full-spectrum supplemental lighting.
